Depends if you are doing any modding on your car. If you are going to stay stock.... then no, it's not important.
Not true at all A catch can is a great mod for even a stock car.PCV gases can effectivlly lower the over all octane of gasoline when mixed in the combustion chamber.Plus PCV gases can cause gumming up of valves and lend to carbon build up in combustion chambers. Not to mention gunking up TGV,intake manifold, intercooler core, turbo compressor wheel and housing........
well i def dont want that and future mods are to come goin stage 2 soon are catch cans easily bolted up hav Im a pretty good mechanic when it comes to bolt ons

...because it's cheaper for companies to manufacture cars without them. It keeps purchase costs down for the consumer. It also helps other companies to make money by selling the catch cans as aftermarket accessories (mechanics make a few bucks too, unless you install it yourself). There's your answer

Do yourself a favor and stay off NASIOC until tomorrow. They have these ridiculous filters on that change the to teh, your to ##, you to u, etc. It's like trying to read a full FAQ in a text message.
None of this april fools day stuff on the internet is funny, it's all just very annoying.

Thanks for the education
BUT... what the hell do the car makers care about aftermarket ANYTHING....? Especially tuner cars that people WILL modify and hopefully void warranties left and right. If it really is something that will be beneficial I would think they would have put them in there to begin with to keep your car out of the shop (or at least help)
...well, that would be beneficial to the car owner, not to the car company. If the owner's car is in the shop, the shop makes money. If the car companies spent a little extra on something that would keep more cars out of their shops, they would be losing money on the repairs that could have been made in their shops. Bottom line is - it's all about money. You have to remember that they're a business and they want to sell reliable products and have a good reputation, but they also rely partially on maintenance/repairs/whatnot to help keep their business afloat. The markup on costs of labor and some of their services is highway robbery. Also, I don't think I've ever walked into a dealership and seen every bay completely empty and the mechanics just sitting around twiddling their thumbs. They always seem to be busy with something. Anyway, I think this has gotten slightly off topic.

Thats like asking why don't cars come with free flowing mufflers, air intakes or performance tuning. Why do Subaru dealerships offer all these high performance parts from STI and SPT?Why don't they come on the car?
