BOV for 08 WRX
Im thinkin bout gettin an Agency Power BOV but not too sure? anyone got one that i can get some feed back from? or anyone HAD one?

Before i had a 03 Sushibushi Lancer OZ so im new to Subaru and new to turbos but im lovin the Subie life :-)

Oh yean and im also new to these forums

Welcome to the forums, but read up about BOVs and cold air intakes. For the 02-07 WRXs, the car and BOV dont get along well. Causes rich conditions between shifts, rough idling sometime, and no performance gain at all. Not entirely sure how it would be on the 08, but Im sure it would be similar.

Oh another thing..... turbo timers...... anyone know of any harnesses out there for the 08? cant seem to find any.

start thinking more go and less show.
i can tell you are one of those kids that just wants a bov cause it sounds cool and watnot but the fact is that they are pointless. you factory bypassvalve is good to about 24psi
and the fact is that intakes (unless tuned) will lean out your car

so again....dont buy an intake and dont buy a bov
get Engine management first before anything too

about this, i was watching a DYNOFLASH video up on youtube, ans big AL was saying stuff like the new BOV's arent good, because they leak a lot of pressure. is that true?

Get an intake if you would like. Unlike the 02-07 WRX's the 08 air intake system is garbage and there are good gains there(~10hp). Of course if you do get one you need to get a protune. The 08 BOV only supports up to 24psi. Of course when you up the boost anywhere close to that high it is going to leak. Stock the 08 is what? around 13 psi? If you plan on getting a lot more power and running higher boost you will need to replace the bov. use search to find the BOV informational posts. good reading.

funny how everyone says to get the Cobb Accessport yet i'm hearing nothing but Bucking/Hiccuping(*SP?)/ and CEL problems from these

my ap does wonders and my map from perrin is even better yet. no problems here, and em is an absolute must for any engine mod, point and simple

Yes look into the ap, I have that on my 06 and it was worth it. It will be more when you get your downpipe. If you get a intake, go with spt. I have that one and I have no problems.

honestly getting a bov as your first mod is pointless. Get other mods that will focus on handling or power. the bov themselves make it harder to shift, there are no benefits from them being on but a loud noise, and if you went to the drag strip there is a good chance that your times would be a tad bit slower, granted this is if you decide to go atmospheric. why you might ask? well our system is designed to recirculate that extra air keeps the turbo spooling while atmospheric the air is sent out and the turbo looses spool.

Mind you, i am not telling you not to buy a bov i am just saying to buy something else before you buy that.

at this point i have a arc intake and i love it. though it comes with a huge price tag its pretty neat.

i advise u all to get the ap with perrins map if you dont wanna go stage 2
its awesome, cant wait to stage 2 tho.
