The thought of making the car look less clean on purpose gives me the chills. Those black wheels already stand out too much and you're complaining they blend. *Shudder*
What does a trophy at a show get you? Bleh, I'll get off your case. It's just sad to see a nice car turn into a show queen.

Mosc, thank you for your input. Without having to resort to cliches that reinforce individual tastes, I'd like to assure you that the result will not be all that bad. Bear in mind were maintaining a 17 inch diameter, although lighter and wider. If nothing else, this will be a performance enhancement. The car won't be riding on large, heavy and shiny wheels. The color of the new wheel is still under debate between satin black and matte bronze. Were leaning toward the bronze for the fact that it will bring out the other light gold details on the car and offer somewhat of a pop rather than hiding in the wheel wells. Meanwhile, it will be dark enough to keep in theme with the car and not be distractive.
To arbitrarily classify this car as a show queen is inaccurate, but you're entitled to your opinion. I don't think by making the car stand out a little more in a show perspective it necessarily equates to it being a show queen. The car is versatile, its raced, its shown, and its a daily driven marketing tool. Just have some faith man, it really won't be that bad.
Don't kill me for this one- just playing devil's advocate, but being a prior CA resident, I have to ask this:
What are you going to do about smog when it comes due?
I know you have a few years before you need to worry about this, but with this extensive modification I forsee smog laws becoming an issue. And I shudder to think what the law enforcement will do to you if they ever pull you over and start looking over your mods for that CARB sticker....

It has yet to be an issue with law enforcement as I drive at the limit and don't make maneuvers that draw attention. I respect the laws on the roads and have my fun at the track. Surprisingly enough, Officers won't give me a second look. In fact, I've gotten a few praises/thumbs up from them before. I've found some Officers to be car guys... And unless someone is breaking traffic laws, why would they bother?
Regarding smog, I have a cat in the system and am not worried about passing the sniffer. It's the visual inspection that it would fail. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it, I'm not too worried about it. Assuming I don't find someone to wave me by, I'll throw in the stock intake and downpipe and give it another go.
I was just thinking you might run into one of those non-car type enforcers who will take notice of you once you get that much louder than stock turbo-xs cat back system.
It helps you drive the speed limit and all, but I do know much of CA has noise pollution laws that you might bump into when you install it.

When's the new parts list coming in the mail?
I'll probably be getting the CBE today, the rest after SEMA.
I currently have the SPT, not stock. So it's fairly loud, esp with the equal lengths. Again, as long as you're not drawing attention to yourself, it's honestly not a big deal.
The Turbo XS CBE with two mufflers should be well within the noise law. I can't imagine it being too much louder than what I currently have. Worst case scenario, I can always weld in a resonator in the midpipe. It's just one of those things that I'll address if I need to. You know?
Hey boost, thinking of picking up Perrin headers, did you dyno them before a return? Curious what the ECU will add after a learn.
I did not dyno the header alone but we did gain significant power in the midrange along with much earlier spool up.
I would not recommend running the header without a specific tune. Your exhaust pulse characteristics change drastically and I feel it wouldn't be safe to run outside of any stock or staged parameters.
