With regards to my impressions about the new coilovers, I'll leave you with a few questions.
Want your 4-door sedan to feel as firm, planted and composed as the likes of a 911? Would you like an independently adjustable ride height that does not compromise your spring travel or pre-load? Care to reduce your body roll to almost nothing?
I have a lot to share about the BCs, but I owe it to myself and everyone else to spend some more miles behind the wheel before i can review them in full.
For now, I leave you with some more suspension components that I've ordered in the name of better bite, snappier response, better rotation, and putting a nail in the body roll coffin. Ladies and Gentlemen, behold:
Perrin 25mm Adjustable Front Sway Bar
Perrin 22mm Adjustable Rear Sway Bar
Perrin Front Endlinks
Perrin Rear Endlinks
Dang Boost, yet another NICE addition to the beast you call your car.
It's a disease, I tell ya!

Wow, that's nice of you to say. I take that as a huge compliment considering the amount of time and thought I put into selecting parts. Though I must say, this project started out as an 'I'll go no further than Stage 2, then return at the end of the lease'. But after our Stage 2 tuning, we saw such a begging potential to swap out the turbo, and clearly, a few other supporting mods too. We still have yet to swap in the injectors and the fuel pump, but it will be soon along with a re-tune. I'm even thinking about throwing on some equal length headers, uppipe, and the inlet tube I've got sitting in my garage to help clear more restrictions, add power, and decrease spool time. But I sincerely fear losing that characteristic boxer rumble emitted by those unequal pipes.
I thought you could still get high-flow un-equal length headers for these cars? Or is it just because you already have them on hand?
You've done some cool mods to this car Boost- and I will refer back to this thread for when I start messing with my 09- when I get it. I feel confident the blown engine issue has been fixed for newer
09s, so I ordered my premium hatch.
What are you expecting to get out of the upipe itself? I thought since they stopped putting catted ones in the stocker was pretty decent- or am I wrong? I am a newb after all....

All 2.5L WRXs have had catless uppipes. While looking into the sway bars on Perrins site, I noticed a header and uppipe package. And when you've modified every piece of exhaust piping, you might as well just change it. There may be an increase in diameter or slightly smoother flow to be had. But that's about it... Expect slightly quicker spool up, but aside from that, the uppipe is my last concern. But if I do get new headers, then I'll likely do the uppipe at the same time.
There may be some unequal length options out there. I just haven't looked yet, to be honest. I just happened upon the Perrin and the gains even on a completely modified LGT, or STI were very significant. Something like 20-30 whp on a dynapack.
You've already seen these. PERRIN 25mm Front Sway Bar, PERRIN 22mm Rear Sway Bar, PERRIN Front Endlinks, PERRIN Rear Endlinks:
Upgrading to a 2008 STI Brake Master Cylinder:
Upgrading to 2004-Spec Brembo Big Brake Kit:
And to finally complete my In-Car Electronics, I am adding in a Pioneer Premier F90BT - in-dash touchscreen Head Unit w/ built in GPS/Nav, Bluetooth (in lieu of the CiG-Blue already installed), iPod Audio+Video, DVD:
Awesome car and fantastic write up/journal. I just read all 15 pages straight through. I've been researching what mods to do and this thread is a wealth of information for a newcomer. It has given me a better understanding of the process and the reasons for each step. Thank you to you and others who have contributed to it.
i always wondered, can u have the video running on the indash screen while driving? specifically the video input channel? if so, imagine running romraider off a computer to it. that would be so dope
Legaly no you can't have it playing while the car is in gear. You have to be parked with the ebreak on. Atleast that's how it is in texas. It is extreamly easy to wire it to play anytime though.
