Blouch 380XT Turbocharger setup??/

Hey all. So i due to the fact i can use billmelater/paypal at vividracing and i just got my taxes, and im also selling my rims and starting a new job. Ive decided to probally go with a Blouch 380XT Turbocharger. They didnt have the vf52, but if imgoing from a TD04 i think while im spending the money i prefer to go a bit higher on the Blouch 380XT.

Now i got an 08. perrin TMIC, AP, all suporting intake and exhaust and map mods, and im snagging some cobb spec 650cc injectors and gonna drop in my walbro pump.

Think this will be a solid set up? I know it wont max the turbo, but im just wanting the setup to be safe on the turbo and engine but also get a bigger difference in performance.

The only thing I would do different is sell the AP to finance the tune your going to need and add a 3port EBCS if you don't have one on order already, also I would go with a larger injector for a little more overhead I havent seen the compressor map for the 380XT but at 40lb/min you will definitely max out those injectors before you max the turbo

Thanks that helps! With selling the AP and getting a tune and the 3port EBCS. Is it possible to run it how i have it then down the road do that option of getting a shop tune and the 3port EBCS?? I wont have cash to throw down for a tune soon, thats why i ask. Also can i run any other kind of electronic boost solenoid? Just curious, trying to just get this car back to running and if possible get the results then do what ## recommending.

no you'll need a tune as soon as you swap out the injectors, and there is no way in hell you could run an upgraded turbo on a tune for a TD04 the car would explode as soon as the turbo came online

380xt isn't much bigger than the VF52, but if you're looking for a VF52 sized turbo then you're doing ok. Honestly I'd just save the cash and find a really nice, low mile VF off a 10 or 11 WRX. Even if you pay $600 for it you're getting more bang for your buck.

I know what u mean, but ill still need a tune and the blouse has quiet a bit more hp ability than the vf52 does, its only rated up to 330hp tho.

what chris is saying though, is spend $600 on a used VF52 and then $400 on a tune. your only $1000 into it then. a 380xt is $1400 with no tune and will probably sit around for awhile till you get another $400. the VF52 i believe is about 38lbs/min so for only 2 more lbs is $800 worth it to you? also i cant remember your 08 injector size but i think their 565cc. if your only going to run 18psi on the VF52 or 380xt you wont need bigger injectors. im not sure if it was you talking about running only 18psi though.

Hell I'm running 20-21psi on my stock injectors... Should probably log it sometime to see what my IDC's are, but they were only 87% with the EWG. They were 90% or so before the EWG went on, gotta love VE.

That was also at 4200', and I'm now at 900'. I should probably log the car.

true true. This whole thing is such a mind game on me, ### i want my car back. But I also wanna make it as fast as i can if Im gonna be spending the money. But I get what your saying, I really didn't think about it that way.

Any experience on going from the td04 to a vf52??? how much greater is it on personal experience from driving them?

Synolimit - thanks for the injector tip, i didnt have that info, i appreciate it man. Idk what id run this turbo at. My stock td04 was mapped at 17.5 but loggin at hitting a tad above 19 psi.

TD04 is a snail. makes good torque for a millisecond and might make good HP with a whole list of bolt on's but its no where near a VF52. a VF52 at 19psi can hit 300whp and maybe 330WTQ with a TBE. a TD04 would need a lot more and again bolt on's like EWG, EL header etc. if you have the money a cheap VF52 can get you all the power you could handle with big bolt on's. a big turbo though can get you there faster with basically just a tune. depends how you want to play it.
