I think a nice t-bolt clamp would work to hold your leak-testing toy on there

...how does a t-bolt clamp not make a complete 360 degree seal?? It's a circle

And yes, the pipes can be damaged by overtightening. I guess you just have to have the magic touch when you're tightening them.

Eh, t-bolts do have issues sealing up the point that's under the bolt itself. They seal very well everywhere else, but they can have issues at that one spot. It's almost like it crimps/folds the silicon coupler under that section of clamp.

Just weld v-band flanges at every connection on the car.
