One more question, catback exhausts don't require any tuning, right?

Also, not sure how familiar you are with the Q300 from Invidia but I heard its barely any louder than the stock exhaust... I want something that has some noise, so now I'm not sure if I wanna go with the Q300 or not. On some videos online it sounds kinda loud and others it doesn't really at all.. I'm not quite sure what to believe! lol.

No tune required for a catback exhaust.

OK that's great, thank you!

Anyone have any thoughts on the Invidia Q300?

Q means quite.

i like my turboxs, its loud. the new ones though have a resonator so they're a little quiter, you could always cut it out. i have no idea what they are thinking trying to sell a 11+ for $1200 when the 08-10 is only $750. but you could get the 08-10 and it will fit. if you want Quad tips you could always add them like i did for $110. hit up boostaddict on 3gwrx.com, tell him i sent you for the best price on TXS stuff.

Ill message him, thanks! And yeah I don't get the extreme price difference... I guess they figure if someone can get a 2011/2012 WRX they can afford those prices.. wrong

Dang I've found some of the TurboXS catbacks (08-10) for around $600, really cheap. So the 08-10 model has double exhaust, but not the quad-tips. This doesn't matter? It will still fit nicely and not burn anything? Would I need new hangers? If I take this to a shop to have them install it, which I will since I'm no mechanic, would they have extra hangers if they needed it for the install or would that be something I'm responsible for? I could always call ahead and ask I suppose.

I'll let you know what I hear back from your friend. Thanks for your help Syno

anyone can install a CBE. if its going on a stock DP you will have to get a 3" to 2.5" adaptor sold at a few subi venders. the hangers will only be needed if you need extra clearence. you wont know though till you get it installed. look at my build thread, you can see the difference of the single tips or getting dual tips welded on.

Everything is stock on the car right now so I guess I'll need that adapter. Can you send me a link to the adapter I'd need? I thought exhausts came with the adapter, but I guess I'm probably wrong there, someone mentioned to me that everything I would need would be in the exhaust installation kit or whatever, maybe not. I'll check out your thread.

how does the loudness of the turboxs dual exhaust compare to say the invidia N1 street/race edition cbe's? I do like that sound of the N1, both street and race sound good to me, the single exhaust doesn't look SO bad I guess.. hah

Heres a video my friend edited and posted of the new exhaust. I don't get on it too hard as I'm still breaking in the engine, but you can tell it sounds a lot nicer than stock.

i have the nameless axleback on mine. Just the muffler delete and it sounds amazing! Real deep rumble and everything! Costs about 330 tax and shipping altogether. Plus it doesnt void your warranty.

^ Probably just breaks your DB laws if your police care about that kind of thing in your area. Something to take into account. That and I don't like how straight pipes sound on a street car. Even the rally cars have a small resonator on the car to kill some of the raspiness.
