2011 STi Sedan Wing

Ever since I saw the pics from the NY Auto Show of the 2011 STi Sedan, I've been curious how it would look on the 08, 09, 10 WRX sedans. I'm a fan of the older WRX / STi "big wing" look. I don't think it's available yet but who's planning on doing this wing swap? Anyone out there have photoshop skills and can maybe whip this together to give those of us that are wondering what it would look like a better idea of how it can look? Thanks!

Garage
The 08-10 fenders are way too small for a wing that big, that's my impression. Hell, I don't even like the 04-07 STi wing. Course that one was COMPLETELY nonfunctional unlike the new 2011 one but still...

i like it and want to do it! only problem is you'll need to fill about 10 holes or more where your stock one comes out and thats a lot of welding, sanding, and painting.

hopefully we will just be able to order the entire trunk lid from the dealer. even if the car is much wide than "'ours'" 08-10" the trunk lid should be the exact same for the 2011. appearance wise it looks like they just gave it wider front fenders. just sayin

That's what I was thinking as well, the trunk lid should be the same. I'm also going to wait for pics...

trunk maybe the same but good luck on colors, im pretty sure mine wont be an 11 option, plus your looking at $1000+ easy for both! you'd be better finding a 11 STI that wants your trunk swap.

i think im gonna try to find plugs for the holes, very very flat plugs, then vinyl the trunk, roof and hood

totally wrong wing, thats the 04-07 that lays on the deck. take the deck part out and your closer.

How heavy is the 2011 wing? I know the 04-07 STi wing is really heavy...

The new wing is just more effecient than the older style wing. Which is why the 06-07s had the rear roof vane added. It directed more air flow into the wing. Because someone in the magazine world got bored enough to compare air flow rates and down force pressures of the evos and stis' wings. So, that is why that part was added. The new wing doesn't need the vane due to its better design.

^^to me it would look even cooler if it did have it. sorry my taste for these cars is the more Rallyed out it looks the better. yes i no we all just drive on the street but a race looking car on the road would make me smile. big wing, rear window vane or hedge hog spikes, rear lower diffusor, lower front lip already on the 09 front spoiler, wide ass fenders like the new 11's and im set.
