I am in agreement with allot of people that the WRX looks better in person. But I dont really like the direction Subaru went with the exterior. It's not that the '08 is an ugly car to me, just that it doesn't have any unique personality. The WRX sedan looks way too much like a Corolla, and the hatch looks too much like a Mazda 3 or Focus SVT. Subaru castrated the WRX in the exterior department.

The STI is growing on me.I like it more than the WRX of course. But, it is still an unfortunate victim of the more common, mainstream look. My girlfriend really likes it, though she drives a Focus SVT so that makes sense. Maybe I'll convince her to buy the STI so i can drive it but hold out myself for the Evo X

i don't see how he got those #'s, not unless he put a 200 shot(lololol) The cold air intake doesn't do crap, and the other mods are just stage 2 cobb. So i'm calling shinanigans on your punk ass. Get some video and time slips and i might believe you. Also that is a good way to waste $25,000. Your going to fry that motor with the NOS. Get a brain!!!

I dont mind the hatch looks like Subaru is making an effort to blend there WRC car to look a little more like the rest of the little hatches in the runnings. Like the Focus, Pugeot(forgive my spelling, I failed french III in highschool), and the Renaults. Its funny too becuase I really hated them for a long ass time but there really starting to grow on me. What kind of impact this new body will have on its Rally performance is still up in the air, but I can't wait to see. theres my .02

My 08 WRX

All,

First post, first WRX! I have wanted one for about ten years, I recently sold my truck and bought an 08 WRX. I do a lot of outdoors stuff (kayak, snowboard) so I put on a roof rack. It may look like a Toyota Camry on the outside but it performs like a WRX! I love when Honda's and Acura's pull up next to me on the highway with their buzzpipes. I smile at them in the mirror as they are left in the dust by my Camry. Did you know the roofrack can hold 176lbs? That is fairly unprecedented.

I myself am new..(posted in newb section). Ive hd the car fro about 4 days now. Being a truck guy I hated the fact that I just traded it in for a car..after driving it and smashing a audi A4 yesterday I beginning to like the car a lot. I know I dont have grounds to speak to the veterans but all I have to say in "teach me mastas" =P.

first time poster on this site and first time owner of any subbi. I just bot a new 08 wrx sti and i love it. I always wanted one since i test drove a 2002 wrx a couple years ago but i did not like the wagon and there was not enuff room in the trunk of the sedan for my audio. I like the new hatch minus the tail lites whitch will and would look allot better if they where smoked. The interior is the prob the best upgrade from the last models i like it allot, i got my sti with the Gold BBS package and the nav system (but did not get the fog lites that come with the BBS package for some reason).
One more reason i like the hatch, no one thinks its going to blow your doors off and it can. This car is prob the best sleeper you can buy today.
Now i just need to find a high output alt to power my system and get it all installed.

Ps my old car was 2006 ford focus zx5 Hatch. (did a good job holding my kicker solox10"s)

I definitely like the 08's WITHOUT the chrome in the grill. Subaru needs to just recycle all their front grill chrome bars before they make it to the assembly line...and start a buyback program for those who have them currently.

Let me just say this. I've been looking at the 08s for a bit now. They do look better in person. WRX sedan is better looking then the hatch. The imprezia hatch is fugly with the hub caps. The STI hatch is way better looking then the normal WRX hatch. The STI still has some balls to it on the outside, it still looks pretty aggressive for a hatch. So, if you haven't taken a look. Stop by a dealership. My local one has 3 different colored 08 STIs and a bunch of WRXs. Personally, I like the 08s in a Black hatch. Even though I own a Blue and gold BBS rimmed 06 STI. Blue is my second choice. I've seen the 08 STI in: alpine white, silver, blue, and black. Preference is: Black, Blue, Silver, than White.

I've had my 08 wrx sedan (premium package) for about a month now. Love the car but very disappointed in the sound system. Subaru could of made the stock exhaust have some sort of distinctive sound (G35). Everything else is above par for it's price range.

I have had my '08 for almost two months now. I love everything about it, but the one thing I really hate is the soft suspension, but I'm halfway down to fixing that problem

I got my 08 at the end of 07. It was marked at around 27k but i ended up gettin it for about 23k out the door because the dealer was trying to sell enough to get into some kind of program from subaru. I made my own custom 3 inch CBE which i eliminated the resinator and mufflers and the car sounds pissed. Then I fabbed my own CAI which has been on for a couple months and I didn't throw any codes. I spent less then 100 on makin both of those mods and ran a best time in the 1/4 of 14.0 with a 2.07 60ft. I haven't drove any other WRXs before this so I can't compare it to them but I have two friends with Evo IXs and when they drove my car they fell in love with how smooth the shifting is. Before I purchased this car i was all about V8s but after driving this car i fell in love with it. So I approve of the 08 WRXs. Oh and Its a black sedan, with the sport grill.
