09 4dr wrx rattle/creaking

I have about 2700 miles on my car and have been noticing a clunk/creak/rattle type noise coming from what sounds like the windshield top/headliner area. it happens cruising at 30-40 mph on roads with cracks/ manholes etc.

anyone else having this issue?

i have an 09 hatch, but i have noticed a TON of little rattles, squeaks and bumps in this thing. it seems to me that in an effort by subaru to keep things as light as possible they sacrificed a little of the rigidity of the panels and didnt use the mounts for the panels that might be most desirable. after doing some exploring behind the panels some i managed to get rid of some of the noises, but you cant get them all.

not a whole lot you can really do about those remaining noises other than just turn up the stereo or drive so fast it doesn't matter any more

Within the first 1k miles on my car my front passenger door speaker developed a nasty vibration/distortion noise- and also my rear drivers side seat belt tensioner failed so the seat belt rattled on the vinyl beside the seat. Dealer fixed my seatbelt issue- was very annoying- but won't touch my speaker rattle- they say I need to keep my volume lower and not turn up the bass.

Not happy about it, but I plan on replacing the speakers any how. What pisses me off about the speaker is I can still hear distortion/rattle from it when the volume is at 12 out of 40- barely audible in normal driving conditions. The stock stereos, even the 6 disc/10 speaker one, bites.

could be the plastic inserts in the back doors, mine fell out and cracked, and it always rattled, was probably broken when they sold me the car. The platic triangle things on the back doors, right infront of the very back side windows.

i actually just noticed a slight rattle from the front pass door speaker as well. it is a low levels, and only on certain songs. actually i have only had it happen on 2 diff. songs. I have the 10 speaker premium and I actually think it sounds awesome for a stock stereo. Its definitely all I need!

this rattle that I hear is def. coming from near the sun visors. i cant figure it out, however i really havent lookied into it i just turn the volume up a bit

I've noticed that I only really get rattles when is gets cold outside, but I expect that from pieces actually shrinking a bit with the temperature. I park my car in the garage at night but it still gets cold enough I start to notice little squeaks driving around. The only thing I've done to prevent them is to push wherever the sound comes from until it stops, and then I've found where the sound is coming from, the few in the trunk i fixed with the "rubberyish" tape they sell at auto parts stores, and anywhere a panel touches the body I put enough to stop the vibration. I've gotten most of them, but a really annoying one seems to have started BEHIND the whole gauge cluster. I'll get to it eventually, but the great thing about the sealant tape is you can stack a couple pieces and they'll still hold their shape to stop vibration.

I have an 09 4dr and it creeks all in the same spots as yours does. I work at Subaru here in Palm Beach, FL and they all do it. no need to be concerned. also, when it gets cold the window regulator squeeks sometimes too. its normal, dont worry.

Mine creeks and rattles too, in many spots! Loudest was inside trunk metal hitting metal above it, I just kept hitting it till it bent up and made permanent contact. Sucks paying 25k and have to listen to that but it’s not a 50k bmw that weighs 5000lbs with almost 100% sound deadening material.

hey subiboost is it just wrx's or all subarus? My mom has a 09 accord loaded company car. After the lease she said she wanted to look at subaru. I don’t wanna say go for it if they all make loud annoying noises!!

I get the stupid vibration in the front passenger side door speaker as well. I have associated it with certain heavy bass notes, but it bothers me for sure. Especially if you have something in the door cup holder area that rattles around! For the most part though I can't say I notice too many of the creeks and such. Try to drive my old 2000 Blazer and you will think you're in a sound proof room in your subie!

You guys just need to add a bigger turbo, TBE, intake and an aftermakret BOV/BPV. Trust me its hard to hear much else in my car, including the radio sometimes.
