08 wrx vdc system question

I am new around here and this is my first post. I was not sure if I should put this here or elsewhere but I am going with here.

I just finished looking at a new 08 wrx and I noticed it has VDC (as I understand it stability control). In my mind the whole point of a stick turbo all wheel drive car is to have some fun in the snow and on dirt roads. Can this system be disabled? When it is off is it really off or is it just less on?

I figured this would be the best place to find someone who has one of these already, so thanks for the hep.

Thanks

Scott

I thought it was only on the STi which has a disable switch. I don't think your car has VDC but maybe I'm wrong. I'm not totally up on the new 08s...

As I understand it all 08's have the vdc. I know that the sti's can be disabled, but I have not found anything either way about the ability to disable it.

if it DOES have VDC, it's gotta have a disable switch. Look harder?

Thanks for the responses, I should clear this up, i do not own one yet. I went and test drove one at subuaru on Sat, and the salesman had no idea why anyone would want to turn off such a great safety feature anyway. Nickster, where is the switch located?

Thanks

It is left of the steering wheel next to the dash dimmer/side mirror adjuster.
