08 vs 09

Where does the 40 hp difference come from? Is it tuning, mechanical,or some of both? Does it effect the final power potential, or how easy it is to make more power?

The 40hp comes form the turbo, obviously tuning is different since it is a different snail. If you have a 08 you could purchase a vf-52 from a 09 wrx, swap it over with an aftermarket downpipe and run a 09 stage 2 tune. It would put down roughly 300whp pending fuel, elevation etc..

From the reviews...the turbo and maybe slightly different exhaust diameter changes. But, just like what 06f250sd said. New turbo and Turbo back exhaust would change all of that...

I'm sorry to hear that, but the VF52 will make you happy.

Nope, I got the base model. I kinda like how subtle it looks, I have always wanted to do a sleeper, I'm thinking about trying to make it look like a non turbo ( perrin stealth fmic, and a non turbo hood) Then I won't have all these ricer hondas trying to get me to race them, I have owned that car for about 24 hours and 3 hondas have already tried to get me to race. It is already getting annoying.

I never get attention and most of the time I'm happy, but sometimes I wonder why nobody ever tries that stuff with me.

Like I said, 99% of the time I don't care, but that one time I had an old man in a supercharged 05-08 mustang GT, well we had a fun run. It was even and I'll leave it at that.

You can buy the body kit from subaru. its like 4 pieces from the 09, comes out to about 1100$ pretty sure its just the front bumper, grill, side skirts, and rear diffuser. in all seriousness. no one will be able to tell the difference unless they have an 09. Get an AVO 380 and show those Vf52s whats crackin hahaha.
I dont think it looks like a corolla, but than again, if you squint your eyes and tilt your head.... maybe just maybe

11.9 in 08, 09 was 13.3. Of course, you don't hit those peaks in the first two gears...

Boost pressure is also almost irrelevant depending on how or what you are comparing them to (i.e my stock turbo at 18 PSI just over 200 AWHP, my 20G at 18 PSI just over 300AWHP, same dyno same gas, minor differences in heat and all). You are comparing two different turbos between the 08 and 09 so its a bit more than just the PSI.
