Whatsup

Whatsup? I don't own a WRX yet but I'm shopping for one now (I'm looking at picking up an 04-05). I'm new to the Subaru thing but not to the car game---I have a full custom 93 Ranger w/hydros/20's/interior/body mods/etc I've been working on for about 6 years. I'm just replacing my daily driver 97 Eclipse with something a little more family friendly--it came down to a WRX or an Evo and the issues with the Evo tranny (gearing/reliability) steered me to the WRX. I'll post pictures as soon as I pick something up! Great site btw, lots of good information, def helped me with my decision!

Welcome to the club. I was also trying to decide between the EVO and the WRX, its kind of a tough decision I think. But the interior and exterior quality alone of the EVO is enough to turn you to the subaru dealer.

Just picked up my WRX and I love it! (drove it 3 hours home from Philly) I got a black mildly modded 2005--Cobb Stage 2, HKS upp/dpp/exhaust, Blitz turbo timer, boost gauge, Perrin springs, 17" rims. I'll post pics soon!

looks like she's been modded up quite a bit. Just from those pictures, the rims/tires, springs, exhaust, and boost gauge are all aftermarket. Do you know what all has been done under the hood? If not, pop it up and snap a picture, we can probably help you figure that out. You might want to take it to a tune shop sooner than later as well.

Thanks for the positive feedback all!! Mosc--as far as the mods--engine wise it has a Cobb Stage 2 AP reflash (93 octane), Perrin drop-in filter, HKS uppipe, Invidia downpipe, HKS catless exhaust, turbo heat shield, and the boost gauge and a Blitz turbo timer. The guy I bought it from told me the turbo and internals are all stock. Its dropped with Perrin springs. Should I still take it to get tuned with these mods? I didnt think so but like I said I'm new to the WRXs....

Looks relatively stock. Sounds like the guy was being honest. Did he give you the Cobb AP or did he unmarry it? If it still has a stage 2 flash on it, you should be in good shape. I never much liked turbo timers but if installed properly, they don't cause any harm.

Great lookin car man! Tasteful mods. I'm digging the turbo heat shield/intake channel. At least the previous owner knew enough to not put a MBC and a BOV on there. Thats a huge +! Welcome brother. I want to see a snap of the ranger too if you get a chance.

Still love my 4 rings, but now all I see is stars.

Yep, he gave me the AccessPort--glad to know I dont have to get it tuned! The guy I bought it from seemed to be pretty straight up with me and knew what he was talking about. I'm just planning on doing minor things to it from here on out as this is my daily driver now....
stagger_lee--thanks for the welcome, here's a pic of my Ranger--its a primered work in progress!! It took 3rd in the Under Construction Class (all minis) at Carlisle this year....Thumbs Up
