Used 08 STi turbo (though it was pulled off an old loyale???). Looks really inexpensive and sketchy by description. I can't even see up close the text identifying it. Not too sure about that one.
Eh it's not going to be a direct bolt on since its from a leggy. Look into a vf-39, 34, 30, or 43. Check nasioc classifieds as well. If you got the 39 used you could get it pretty cheap.
ok, so leg and wrx bolt on differently...thanks for the clarification
VF39 huh? see what i can find......
EDIT:all im finding is used, which would be ok if i could check it before i paid for it, is there an aftermarket/upgraded replacement that i should be looking for instead?

yeah I mean the best you can do (if you can't meet up in person) is inquire to how many miles/shaft play/etc about the turbo and ask for a bunch of pics. I bought a used turbo off someone online and it came just as they said, so I did have a good experience with it. It's either that or save for a new one, if you can't find a local one for sale.
If you were going to get any vf series turbo I recommend the vf-34. It will give you some nice power and direct bolt on. It will be more expensive than the 39 though. Unfortunately the saying is true you have to pay to play. May I ask why your opposed to a vf-39 or 43? If it's the money you're not going to find anything less expensive that will be beneficial for your car. A used 39 is about as low as I'd go for an STi. Those ebay ones are just trouble.
once again man I'll say it I don't condone purchasing a turbo from ebay. The seller has good feedback but I've never done it and I've heard of people not getting what they ordered. Thats just me, if you want to shoot for it do it....but I would be looking in nasioc classifieds for a used one. You can get a good turbo on there with low miles for 500.
i guess i don't really see the difference, either way im not going to be able to physically see it before i buy it, so NASIOC might as well be an ebay for subaru owners right?

You could get screwed from anywhere. You have to feel out the sellers, but I think NAISOC you will get a better ratio of good to bad sellers unlike ebay. Unfortunately ebay seems to have gone down hill.
Love the ride man. Tasteful. Welcome! Keep us posted. Cheers!

Agreed. You could take a chance with those from ebay but I've heard stories that just don't sit well regarding turbo purchases from ebay. You'll have better chances of getting a solid turbo from nasioc than ebay like stagger lee said.
