new subie owner that just came off a big scare

hey guys,

well i just bought a 02 wrx wagon ... it has been 'bout a week and i had baby it... then yesterday i decided to really gun it to see what it is capable of...

as i was going to 3rd gear then the check engine came on and it was flashing... the engine started to stumble and i got scared, i was like "shit i f'd up".

so i went to buy a obd2 code reader for like 60 bucks... so i found the code read misfire on cyl#2... i did not know where cyl#2 is located, so i looked around on the net and found no real info. i also looked for a repair manual and could not find it. so finally i came across chiltondiy.com and bought the subscription. well to make this story short it turn out that the coil harness was loose. so i am pissed that i spent all that money to figure it out but relieve that was all it had wrong.

what a day i had

you didnt waste your money, you now have a OBD2 scanner, and a subscribtion to a web site with a ton of useful information. We use Mitchell at my work, its pretty much the same thing.
