Hello! I recently purchased a new to me 2010 WRX. So far I have mixed feelings about the car. It was amazing when I first purchased it but it's had issues since then, but those are for the technical part of this forum. I live in central Maine and have loved the WRX in the snow! I had an 03 Saturn Ion previously and the WRX is a completely different class of car haha. I hope I can get all my technical issues sorted out by the summer, I can't wait to drive some of the great back roads up here. I'll miss sliding around in the snow, but the previous owner lowered her, and she handles like a dream.

List of mods?

So the dealer knows of the suspension they sold the car to you with?

BTW... welcome

I wonder if the dealer didn't reflash the car IF in fact it had any mods/tune on it before.

The car was lowered, no idea with what suspension kit. It has a Perrin front strut brace and HID light conversion. It has a factory installed short shift kit and an aftermarket boost gauge. That's all I'm fully aware of, I know that sounds strange but the dealer didn't tell me about any. They only told me about the strut brace because its pretty obvious when you pop the hood.

The reflag was my first thought and I did ask them to do that, I believe that they did or at least reset the ecu as all the electronics were reset the last time I got it back from them.

No meets that I'm aware of, however I would like to attend one. I do have friends on the local amateur rally team, I just need to make the time to have them look over my car. We work different schedules so its a little hard to have them look at the car.

It's infuriating that people put themselves in the situations they do buying cars without a comprehensive list of modifications. Of what you do know is done, the HID kit needs to be removed ASAP. You can't run HIDs in the stock headlights.

Congrats on your new purchase though. Welcome to the club.

I have learned my lesson on trusting the dealer to tell me everything that was done to a car. At this point I probably won't be buying another used WRX again, Ill just save a little more and buy the next one new.
As far as the HID, they seem to have an external ballast. What kind of damage will this do to the stock headlights?

If the lenses and casings aren't switched out, they can blind oncoming traffic
