New from MA

Hey everyone, my name is Shane I am from MA, Boston area. I am 26, have owned a Subaru for about 3 years now after leaving Honda (car got stolen) that's another story.

As of now I have an 02' Wrx, mods include SPT intake, Go Fast Bits BOV fully adjustable for full atmospheric to full recirculation, (I've been booed for having it on full atmospheric not going to argue I love the sound and my engine runs perfect). On the way this week I have an Agency Power UEL header+up pipe to be installed along with a Cobb catted DP which will go to an SRS type RE cat back.

I'm locked in for June 5th to head to a heart breaker dyno to get tuned with a Grimmspeed EBC 3 port, hopeful for anything in the 240whp range.

The outside was painted black by the original owner which was an older gentleman who daily drove it on the highway back and forth to work it had 109k when I picked it up and currently is at 115k, I've gone ahead and put on a set of Rock Blockerz mudflaps my old 98 RS 5 spoke golds with original paint held on with some black acorn style lugs, a Home Depot garage liner for a front lip, and finally just some yellow tint over the fog lights.

The interior has some 06' wrx front seats I got for free, a white Sti shift knob, Jensen 7" flip screen Dvd, Av, usb and navi radio, and an Omori Boost guage.

As of now I would really enjoy the power increase, I had built an NA civic hatch from the block up myself while I worked in the basement changing oil at Honda, full interior full spare and tools in the back I was running 13.9 1/4 mile times, I do plan to go to the track once or twice just to see how the Subaru runs and get a better feel for it. I don't really take the car over 3k and when I have I've never gone past 5k, after installing the Omori boost gauge i noticed I've rarely hit full boost while I drive so putting in these parts and getting tuned should make a big difference in my day to day driving.

I've read a little bit about the Wrx here on the forums and just watching other peoples videos on their builds and techniques while at the strip, with the way I drive it now and the original owners being an older guy who pretty much drove it back and forth to work, should my drive train be as much of a worry to me as I think it is. I definitely do not plan to just go bouncing the needle and moving my foot to the side to drop the clutch but could I be a little more aggressive with the speed at which I do engage it?

And thank you to those that have welcomed me, you might have seen me on Rs25 also same tag name, also where I got the idea for the Home Depot garage liner lip mod.

To be honest when I first decided to move on from the Rs as I felt I'd never get it swapped i thought the bug eye was actually kind of ugly and wanted something 04 and up, but it grew on me and as of now I prefer their style over the others.

Bug eyes(and wagons) ftw . Welcome man. Love the lip idea. Looks good. I also like the look of the wheels. Nice work. BTW my guess is 238/257

I have been debating with myself on weather to pick up some coilovers even though my suspension is fine right now, I would probably go with some GodSpeed ones and it would really be just for looks. The reason I am hesitant is when I go to the dyno I want to be sure i have funds for anything that pops up and will need to be taken care of rather than have it lowered a little bit, what do you guys think?

Avoid anything with godspeed stamped on it anywhere. Not good stuff. With suspension stuff you font wanna go cheap at all.
