New and kinda lost!

I just got an 02 WRX and I love it is completely stock. I just want to know what would be the best thing to do to it first.

That depends on what you want from the car. Wheels and/or tires for better grip and less rotating mass, or some type of EM(engine management) for some speed, or a CBE (cat back exhaust) for some noise. Just stay away from BOVs (Blow Off Valves) and intakes for the most part and you should be fine.

+1 with New but he forgot the magic words SEARCH BUTTON. Alot of your common questions such as first mods, exhausts, intakes, and just about anything you can think of has been discussed. Search first ask later its a good way to keep people helpful when you do actually have a question.

One of my buddies told me I should get hard lines first, but all I can find are the silicone one. Do they make like stainless ones?

Just want to apologize for that. I usually make sure to put that in my statement, the search button is a GREAT tool, on here and just on the internet in general.

As far as hard lines go, they are fine, but if you are stock, I dont see the need for them yet. But if and when you do replace them, you are looking to replace them with silicone ones. I havent seen or heard of any one using stainless. Im sure that would be a royal PITA.

Stainless would be pita! Silicone! How much money do you have to spend? Is this going be a daily driver or a full out modded car?

NO NO NO you are still stock I would never recommend that to you. I will however say go with a turbo back exhaust first. To explain that means a down pipe and cbe to be simple.

+1 to that, good choice, and if you look around you can find used ones for a heck of a deal, or the ERZ off of ebay has gotten great reviews from users on here.

yea its not an SRT4 it doesnt need new hardlines.

go for some engine managent like the Cobb AP then go for a downpipe, catback and uppipe and see how you like it. that will give you about 210 whp

welcome.

Robby
02 rex is gone.
I defected to an evo :)
Evo is gone :(

What KID said is a good idea. Search the engine management see what best fits you and your abilities and make a decision from there. You could possible get the DP and not need EM as the 02 or not as picky as the newer cars, but still EM does allow you to get more out of the mods that you do put on your car.
