Talking New 09 WRX Owner

This is my first scooby--it took over 2 months to find one in blue at the end of this model year. It was sold out in all of the Midwest and east coast, but I did wind up getting an amazing deal on one in CA. It came with the STi short throw (does that include the shifter bushings?) and an iPod adapter. Unfortunately, because I live in God-forsaken Michigan, the first things I have to get are winter tires and fog lights. Any opinions on the Dunlop Winter Sport SP 3d?

It's at about 455 mi right now.

Welcome buddy.....i just got mine about 2 months ago. loving every minute of it. are you going to buy new tires to fit your stock wheels? i just picked up a set of 16 inch steel wheels with a set snow tires off craigslist for $200....just a different route but more cost effective.

Welcome

Welcome, I bought a 09 WRX about two months ago too. I am loving it, The blue is looking nice, I was thinking of that myself but went for something a little more low profile

Thanks guys! If I can find a set of cheap wheels for the winter and paint em gold, that's fine too. The tires alone would cost about $400, so if I can find a set already on wheels for less, I'm all for it.

Tomorrow, weather permitting, I'll debadge everything on the back except the WRX, and scout some hardware stores for 'cherry blossom red' enamel-based paint for the stars and to outline the letters. I'm also going to get a new license plate frame, possibly a pinstripe in the grill, too, if I can find a good color. I'm ordering the white fog lights and a WRX plate to cover up the awkward bump and the screw holes left after removing the front plate from Subaru.

When I save up money I'll do some actual performance mods. The taxes on this thing were crazy and set me back further than expected.

Good luck with finding the paint and if/when doing it. Definetly throw up some pics when you are finished.
