i just bought an 02 wrx and it has a cold air intake 3in exhast and a bov that i know of. i want to make it faster what should i do first to it or do to it at all i dont really know about subaru's need help o and it is at 20psi
20 psi on a stock turbo is too much. are u sure it has the stock turbo? well the only thing i would do is get a protune just to make sure u have a safe set-up and check it over real good to see if u don't have any unknown mods.
ps. btw stock turbo is safely recommended no more than 17 psi of boost
Take the CAI off and the boost controller off right away. They are two things you don't want to do to a WRX right off the bat. If you want to make it faster, get some engine managment and get a pro-tune.
thats what i was thinking the cobb v1 or is the v2 better to get i dont really know if it is the stock turbo on there i just bought the car but i dont have a boost controller that i can see but it might be hiden the whole car looks weird to me the set up im use to an eclise but i really wanted a wrx so now i have to do alot more looking up but thanks
i went to the track and i did okay i guess my 60 foot time was 1.927 and my end time was 13.78 i dont know if that ws good for a wrx or not or if its stock but i couldnt launch very good any tips please
It will probably smooth out your idling. Sometimes they run rich between shifts also, but then again yours may not. It all depends how your car acts with it on, some subies don't get bothered by it and some do.
It's hard to tell without having it on a lap top or some sort of diagnostics machine. Like I said though maybe it'll be just fine or it maybe off so minimally it may not be noticable. It seems like it matters what part of the year each car was made too, earlier models have different problems than ones made later in the year for some dumb reason. Too much emissions control over everything in my opinion. It's not like the old days when you could build a big block, tune your carb right and there's a good running 500+ horse.
