Emily, 06 wrx.

Hi everyone, I'm Emily.. I just got my first subie, a 2006 wrx limited. I don't have any plans for the car, yet.. We still need to get to know eachother :) Before the subie I had a 2002 rsx type s, a 2000 civic si, and a bmw 323i.. This one is by far, the most fun! Here are some pics of my baby :)

Welcome to the club. Looks like the other owner did some decent asthetics to the car. Not usually a red fan, but with what has been done, very clean looking car.

welcome!! i too was a honda guy. built and raced a 92 integra. but like you said the subie is way better than anything ive owned. the handeling of the awd is great. hope you make her look good.

emilyfersure 04-12-2009 06:19 PM

I don't even know what the owner did, besides the intake... what else??

newtothegame 04-12-2009 06:23 PM

Painted the headlights, painted the gauge cluster, and either swapped or painted the subaru emblem in at least the front grille. Thats all I can from the pics you posted. Again pretty clean to me.

emilyfersure 04-12-2009 06:25 PM

Ohh. yes I knew those.. I thought you meant with the engine :P Thank you.. I never thought I'd own a red car.. I always had blue prior to this.

newtothegame 04-12-2009 06:29 PM

Oh ok, yeah aside from the intake, the engine looks stock as a rock. My last car was red, prior to that green, then before that yellow. I really want to get my subie painted yellow like the Spec-C eventually.

blue03scooby 04-12-2009 06:35 PM

i agree with newtothegame. now i have been reading on here that an aftermarket intake doesnt do much for performance. would you agree with that, newtothegame?

Vew 04-12-2009 06:52 PM

Intake doesn't yield significant performance gains. For us, it's more of a cap. The stock box will handle up to 350bhp no problem. I'm a bit confused to why the frame behind the grill is painted. Welcome btw.

blue03scooby 04-12-2009 06:58 PM

thats what i heard. i removed my silencer and put a k&n pannel filter and noticed the turbo spool more. i read that the spt sri does the same thing as removing the silencer and putting a high flow pannel filter in.

emilyfersure 04-12-2009 06:58 PM

I'm not sure.. there was tape allover the panels of the car with red on it.. but its a clean title.. so im not too worried

Unfortunately, you are probably feeling a placebo effect. It shouldn't make a gain that can be physically noticed.

blue03scooby 04-12-2009 07:14 PM

oh yea i did notice a just like you would in any car that you let beath better. those stock filters and silencers choke the engine as do the stock exhaust. let the engine breath the better the performance.

Vew is absolutely right, if you go and get a tune with a CAI or maybe an SRI you might be able to squeeze out a few ponies, but for the money, not a good first mod.

emilyfersure 04-12-2009 09:19 PM

whats a good first mod?
