02 wrx automatic questions?

hi everyone

i am a pretty new owner of a 02 wrx with automatic transmission
i just have a couple of questions about it.

i have done some modifications to it i have an AEM cold air intake kuzcos strutbar a Greddy TBE and a Megan DP. i also have a obx equal length header that is being put on this saturday. im also having a turbo timer installed too.

idk if anyone has any of these mods but im wondering how much whp im putting down
and if adding the header is gonna add hp? im also wanting to get cobb v2 Ap and stage 2 maps how much does this help with my auto? because its kinda lagging in low end torque
i step on the pedal sometimes and it just takes a while then when i hit high rpms it takes off i just want to know what are some of the best things to do to get my car around 300whp?

Let me answer your questions seperately.
1) depending on the dyno with those mods and a proper tune you could be putting down anywhere from 200whp to 230whp give or take about 5

2) yes the header has the potential to add HP if you get a custom tune for it

3) if you want the AP soley for the STG 2 map you may as well not buy it, because if you look at the mod list on cobbs website the header and intake are not on it so GET A CUSTOM TUNE

4) the no low end torque is common in WRX's but the reason you feel it most is the automatic, if you upgraded to a high stall torque converter it would help out down low

5) upgrade to either a Evo III 16G turbo or an 18G, get either a STi TMIC or another quality aftermarket one, walbro fuel pump, 600cc injectors or better, and upgraded your up-pipe to get rid of the cat before your turbo

If you pick up the latest issue of Project Car you might like what they did to their automatic 02 wrx project. They installed a VF34, sti top mount, sti pink injectors, and an accessport with an off the shelf map. It dyno'd 291whp.

if you want for the OTS map then you must meet these specifications to the T:

Intended for use on a 2002-2003 WRX with
stock intake, stock fuel injectors, and a turbo-back exhaust system.
MUST USE FACTORY OR COBB SF INTAKE SYSTEM ONLY, NO OTHER AFTERMARKET
INTAKES ARE CERTIFIED COMPATIBLE WITH THIS CALIBRATION.

no where in there does it say you can use a header so yes you will need a custom tune if you intend on using it...and you can eliminate the up-pipe cat no problem its not even monitered.

and as for Macros they are just programs that will automatically fill in forms and such

Basco..
thanks alot for your advice ive been followin most parts
i got the car back yesterday from getting the header and up pipe
changed to obx H/UP Pipe. the car sounds alot sweeter and definitley gets off
alot faster from a stopped position. i drive around town in third gear since the drive in the 4eat hardly likes to get below 3rd gear and lags on the get go.

I have found a tune shop that works with cobb right by my work
can i get him to tune it even if i dont have the cobb ap??

also by tuning my car to my modifications list and raising psi
this will inturn put out more whp then what im running right now without the tune???

i need answers?

Most definitely your tuner should be able to tune your car with out the AP it's called open source tuning.

and heck yes rasing the psi and getting the custom tune will raise your HP
