making my, er, debut here. my little sedan is a 2002 all white, black rims. well just check out the pictures. recent nissan convert, but i haven't turned my back on nismo! this is a completely new world to me and i'm looking forward to the awd this winter.
a little back ground on how i picked up the car
was rear ended in my infiniti G20 on friday the 12th, and was forced to start looking for a new car. this part kills me cause i had a DIME P10 and it is now destroyed, sad day. i gotta say though with the tien suspension it handled a little better than the scoob.
now for the wrx!
i know, i know, the aem intake is no bueno. and it kinda bothers me that it's on there but i'll get it back to stock asap.
let me know what you think! i think i got a screamin deal, picked it up for 5k from a guy in the middle of a divorce right now. too bad about the divorce though
clean? ah, guess i'm good at photography! actually has about 1200 in hail damage. contributed to the dirt cheap price. thanks for the compliments guys. realy lookin forward to hookin into these forums as much as i have G20.net. hopefuly you guys can be just as helpful as my friends over there
i realy only need to pick up on boxer, and turbo applications. mostly boxer. i could tell you anything you want about an SR20DE or SR20DET. i've been in that world for 5 or 6 years now. so don't be surprised if i have a soft spot for nissans
If you like Nismo so much, you should have gone with the Skyline! jk, since when can anyone afford the importing costs...... :P
Was your G20 the G20t? I always liked those, they are kinda like the brother/sister to my brother's old Altima. Altima had a KA24DE in it, and it's a 4dr sedan, G20 was same thing but with the sister SR20DE(t) motor. My brother has this "NISMO" hat still, the other day he looked at me holding it and said, "what the hell am I going to do with this now?"
Anyways, welcome to the forums, you will definately find all sorts of helpfull info on this forum.
ah nice to have some nismo support, sadly it was just the regular old luxury sedan. probably would have been payed out better with a T model. and again, sadly it had no sr20det, just a de. was saving up for a gti-r engine but plans kinda came to a sudden halt.
Are you sure? That's hella stupid if that's true....
We originally were going to turbo his Altima and then work on the suspension with maybe some airbags and some sweet SportMaxx VIP wheels.... But, like you plans kinda came to a halt; when the motor mount tore itself apart.
Yes I'm sure. It's your average 3000lb, 140hp FWD, 17s 1/4mile time, 1990s luxury car.
It's pretty similar to your Jetta. Retailed for a bit more money and has a smaller engine but boasts a better suspension, better gas mileage, and a lot nicer interior. That is, if 90s compact 4D FWD cars are your thing...
Wow. That sucks. IMO it seems the G20 was a worse car to have than the Altima... Altima- 2900lbs, 160hp... Only thing is, it's a grandma's car, not a luxury Infiniti.
wow, some accurate and them some inaccurate info between you two. sr20det never hit the states, this is true. and if any soobs on here ever come up against a PROPERLY SWAPPED g20 with a det, you've got some serious competition. as for 1/4 mile times, stock cars have hit mid 15's. i know that's not so hot but you gotta give the fat luxury compact sedan some credit.
as for suspension, the thing is a monster. with the tien/kyb setup i had, i could easily hit a turn at 80. the stock wasn't too bad either.
and for luxury infiniti, you gotta give some more credit. infiniti is not like acura where theres a stripped down base model. 95% of these cars came with most creature comforts imaginable for the day. lets just say it's a hard to find one without a sunroof or leather
Stock cars may have hit 15s but the factory reported 1/4 times of 16.9 which seem right in line with a 3000lb 140hp car. I'm inclined to disagree. 1/4 Mile ET Calculator
For example putting in 140 flywheel hp and 3000 lbs gives: 17.05 seconds. Wow, didn't I just say that?
Sorry to get snippy but "15s", come on. It would take a skilled driver and a well maintained vehicle to even get <17s in that car.
Why are we arguing about this anyway? Lets just enjoy the nice 02 WRX, shall we?
