Want to make my car more fun on the dirt

I recently bought a 2004 Subaru wrx and I really enjoy it but would like it to be more dirt road friendly. Better handling and more smooth when going over the not-so-smooth parts.

It is pretty well stock and I am starting from scratch any advice on what I should do and start with would be mich appreciated.

I've heard a little about lifting it and think that might be a little fun and would make it look cool.

Also heard new struts and sway bars would help out a lot, can I get a confirm or deny on that?

Please leave links To were I can buy and also maybe a how to video as well.

Thanks for the help

You are gonna need to start with all new bushings, then look into off road suspension setups. I have no experience here. But I know you will want to strengthen up the suspension quite a bit. Not stiffen it. I'm sure there are a couple guys on here who may know some must have goodies that you will need.

And if I remember right bushings will need to be done at a shop? Because they need some sort of compression?

Question:
Is this going to be strictly a off road car or are you going to drive it on the street more?

^ I will use it for both, but when I take it off road I don't want to feel like I'm beating the crap out of it.

the FXT springs are................... mediocre at best. My sisters XT stock suspension is terrible. I feel extra bouncy in it.
