Pacenotes Write-Up

I thought I would take some time and explain how to make pacenotes and or understand what they mean/are. Keep in mind this is the very basics of pacenotes, nothing complicated or technical.

Topic 1: Pacenote Basics

R: Right
L: Left

1 - One, most sharp
2 - Two
3 - Three
4 - Four
5 - Five
6 - Six
7 - Seven

OHP - Open Hairpin
HP - Hairpin
C - Crest
lg - Long
lgv - Very Long
at T - At T-Junction
(FLAG) - Finish
> - Tightens
< - Opens
10/20/30 ETC. - Distance (m)
Encircled Number - Junction Number

Pacenote Terms

Past Road

Pacenotes - Example

I could not figure out how to put a 1 and 2 inside a circle for the example, so I italicized it, normally it would go ontop of the pacenotes and the number would be circled. Spacing is used so you don't skip a line and or mess up in general, when you are off road, reading these is a challenge.

30 Turn 1 R1 40 R6 Into C + L5 30 R1 + L1 30

L4 Into R6 30 R3 40 R1 + L4 + R4 + L3 + C L3 Into

C + R2 + C + R5 Into L4 40 R4 100 R5lg > 4 2

Into L3lg Into C 40 L3 + C 100 (FLAG)
