Santa Monica, Calif. (November 20, 2007) – The Red Bull Experiment will take the scientific method to a whole new level, testing the limits of the unknown this New Year’s Eve at the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Robbie Maddison and Rhys Millen, two of the most dynamic personalities in motorsports, will be performing two ground-breaking feats in a city that is all about going big. One Experiment will take place at the stroke of midnight on the East Coast, and the second will occur when the clock strikes “12” on the West Coast. At its heart, the DNA of the Red Bull Experiment is simple: the best athletes from around the globe performing world first “experimental” sporting achievements.
Maddison, a freestyle motocross star from Australia, will attempt to jump the length of a football field (more than 300 feet) to set a new motorcycle distance jumping world record. Millen, a champion drifter and movie stunt driver hailing from New Zealand, will attempt the first-ever backflip of an off-road racing truck. Representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records will be in attendance to validate each jump.
“I have ridden dirt bikes for over 20 years - this is what I do!” said Maddison. “All the success and injuries over the years have molded me into someone who wants to achieve the biggest feat on a motorcycle ever.”
“In my extreme world of motor sports and stunts, pushing the limits is a way of life,” added Millen. “Being the first to backflip a truck ramp to ramp is the ultimate high.”
Maddison has achieved tremendous success in the freestyle motocross world and is already the owner of two world records – for the longest jump on a 125cc motorcycle (221 feet) and the longest jump with a trick (246 feet).
Come New Year’s Eve, “Maddo” is looking to add to his resume and become the standard-bearer for distance jumping.
In addition to a Formula D championship, success as an off-road racer and several credits as a stunt driver, including Fast and the Furious 3, Tokyo Drift and Dukes of Hazzard, Millen is aiming to accomplish something unprecedented. Not only will he drive the truck; the Kiwi has designed the take-off ramp for his flip as well.
Tickets for the public to witness the Red Bull Experiment can be purchased for $12, starting on Monday, December 3, at www.newyearnolimits.com and at the Rio Box Office. Day-of tickets will be available as well.
Both Red Bull Experiments air live on ESPN’s New Year. No Limits telecast on Monday, December 31, immediately following coverage of the Chick-fil-A Bowl. The first jump will air in Part One of the telecast from 11:15 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. ET / 8:15 - 9:30 p.m. PT. The second jump will take place during Part Two, from 2:00 - 3:30 a.m. ET / 11:00 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. PT.

Travis Pastrana and Subaru Rally Team USA Competing This Weekend
- press release -
(Swansea, Wales - November 30, 2007) Subaru Rally Team USA driver Travis Pastrana, the reigning 2006 and 2007 Rally America National Champion is in the United Kingdom this weekend competing in the Wales Rally Great Britain, the final round of the 2007 World Rally Championship. Pastrana will be entered in the Production World Rally Championship, driving a BFGoodrich Tires-shod 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STI rally car. The Wales Rally GB marks the third ever WRC event for the young Pastrana, who previously entered WRC events in Mexico and Argentina earlier this year. Subaru Rally Team USA will be offering updates throughout the event on their website www.subaru.com/rally, additionally Pastrana will be providing an exclusive nightly blog for the World Rally Championship's website at www.wrc.com.
"This is a classic event with probably the strongest competition I've ever seen," said Pastrana. "We are doing just three WRC rounds this year to learn more and get some more experience. It certainly has been very challenging getting used to the different format of the WRC rounds compared to our Rally America Championship events. We are not here to win but rather simply improve our performance and maybe set some respectable stage times against some of the World's best drivers. It has also been great to be a part of an all-American team in the WRC this year!"
This year will mark the 75th edition of the classic event, which was previously known as the RAC Rally. The rally takes place in and around Wales and is based in its capital, Cardiff. The popular super-special stage is based in the Millennium Stadium which typically hosts soccer and rugby matches and seats over 74,000 people! The event's single service park is on the waterfront in Swansea, 65km from Cardiff. Through the course of three days Pastrana will race on over 224 miles of slick forest roads, that are considered some of the most difficult stages in the World Rally Championship, especially when typical Welsh weather of rain and fog are present. The Wales Rally GB begins in earnest Friday morning and concludes late Sunday afternoon.
