WRX vs Cobalt SS

I keep getting $h!t from a kid who has a Cobalt SS (supercharged). I have an 07 WRX which is currently stock. The kid in the SS has (from what i know) a new exhaust and a new air intake. He says that he can take me. Whats your opinions?

If you get a good 60ft time (1.8 or less), you will get him in the 1/4.

If he has the re-mapped ECM from GM Performance Parts catalog, he will take you at the top end.

The cobalt runs the quarter in 14.4 seconds...Stock WRX can do it in 14.2 (both numbers according to Car and Driver). Just make sure you take it to the strip...Good luck man!

It would be a close race, You'll definatly tear him out of the whole with AWD. It really comes down to reaction time and the driver both cars are very close performance wise.

if you are a horrible driver stock for stock, you will lose now depending on what your and his mods are who knows with you posting each. If it were me I would say go for it but dont give it your all the first time to see if he dogs it or goes full out. IF you see him run and think you can take him, ask to run again you missed 2nd or something.

Long story short my stage 2 04 has seen alot of action in my little town with lots of wanna be v6-v8s and 1 v10 and I only lost once due to the race started before I gave that I was ready(only then by half a car). Give it a try nothing to lose.

This all taking place on the track of course. You weren't using a tree? Just good old fashion pinks style drop of the hands?

A good friend of mine has a Cobalt SS/SC, and it's plenty quick. I've drove it several times, it's just not as quick as a WRX.
