yea warranty doesnt cover clutch....that wear n tear....and who wants to pay $100 hour to have a clutch done anyways. If i get 2 years out of every stock clutch ill be happy. Better than replacing a trans

Subaru actually does cover one clutch up to 36k. No clutch should go out in less than that unless the driver is smoking the hell out of it or it's a defect.... Got that from a service tech out here that they do cover it, generally no questions.

Syno- take the big sidways stick out of your ass. I must have read your post wrong but it definitely sounded like you already killed a clutch and have 10k on this one. Regardless, 12k on a clutch on a modified car is pretty sad unless you hit the strip every weekend. From what I remember you don't, so hopefully your clutch lasts longer than 12k.

You seem to take everything as an attack and you need to chill out buddy. My bad for reading it wrong.

^^^^ i say yes. i cant see ANY dealer or ANY car company just giving away a $600-$800 clutch for free and standard dealer clutch install time of 8hrs at $70-$85 an hour. if im wrong im wrong but i doubt it. nothing in the world is free especially a $1160-$1480 clutch install when its one of the biggest wear parts on the car plus your extra 100TQ your throwing at it.

Just put it back to stock and you'll probably get away with it.... At least replace the external stuff that they would look at and say "no way."

same here. ill pay $750 for a stage one and street light flywheel and do it myself in less time to take everything off and let the dealer have it for a week.

stocks are that cheap? and only being $280 for an aftermarket lighter performance flywheel ill spend that instead of $50 on re-surfacing the stock flywheel. also depending on who you talk to or where you go i know i heard not to re-surface the stock flywheel. theres not enough material left after its re-surfaced or something, idk! again a $230 difference is cheap enough for me.

you should be around that time, On my 2.0 with stock turbo i ran a 12.7 at 109 mph and my 60ft times were from 1.58 to 1.63. I was driving the hell out of my car and i left the line at a very high rpm and ran my tire pressure at 18psi. I never broke my tranny but i did go through 2 clutches in my car.

i just got a 2010 wrx a week ago and my dealer told me that subaru would replace ONE clutch under warranty. not that it matters cause, i wouldn't use a stock clutch after the first one goes anyway. just my two cents. and damn, low 12s is awesome. cant wait for some mods. lol
