Stage 1 vs 2 comparos?

Just wondering if anyone has any real data on stock, vs stage 1, vs stage 2 drag strip times for the wrx. I'd obviously need to be the same type of car.

I'm just wondering what kind of acceleration differences there are between each stage of upgrades?

tnx

Tough to get. I had an 08 wrx (different then yours obviously) and stock to stage 1 was mostly a drivabilty improvement. While is added some boost and made the taper hold boost longer, it really made the throttle and torque table smooth. I'd guess it'd made maybe a few tenths on a 1/4 run. Stage 2 on the the other hand bumps up the hp quite a bit over stock. I just don't have any real numbers for you on drag times.

Car & Driver did some performance tests with a stock 09 wrx and stage 2 09 wrx. Here is the link:

I went Stage 1 maybe about a month ago.

You can feel the difference quite noticeably. I don't think it'd help you much in the 1/4.

I had horrible launches and got really bad times in the 1/4 stock.
Now that I'm Stage 1, my launches are near perfect. I havent gone back to the strip yet, but I think I'd do a lot better now. Maybe knock off like 2 seconds honestly.

Bottom line is that it holds boost and more boost a lot longer now, which in turn smooths out the power band.

Stg.1 is more of a refinement more so than power. Smooths out the over all power band.

IMO Stage 2 wasn't much a difference from Stage 1. About 20% more power IMO.

Maybe should have went from stock to Stage 2 to feel the difference.

^Have you taken it for a stg2 tune yet?

You would think differently.

I'm on an OTS map "Stage 2 (91)"

Also located in California so I'm thinking of doing the ACN map.

How much would a tune be able to squeeze out?

Depends on the tuner and mods.

In my subies a tune was night and day from "stage 1".

I m solid stage 2 actually just a touch past..Even before access port..Then Had it dyno tunned 290hp at all 4 and 315 Tq @ 19lbs of Boost...However i was at the mercy of the intercooler and Injectors...Installed a Bar and Plate Style Intercooler 40 percent more efficiant than stock..Decent increase maybe 7 or 8 hp....

I have no idea what "stage" i'm at really....Stg. 2.34 maybe...haha
