My Modded 07 WRX TR at the track

Well decided to hit up the track here the other night to see what i would run after a bigger top mount and a tune. Previous time with Invidia catless TBE was 13.4@ 101 on a 1.7 60 foot.

Current mods to the car are:

SPT intake
Invidia Catless TBE
Ebay CX Racing Big top mount IC with Y-Pipe
Protuned Stage 2 map tuned by my buddy from AutoSpeed

Best run of the night was a 12.7 at 106mph on a 1.78 60ft. Went 8.0 at 86mph in the 1/8. Car was at full wieght on street tires. The crappy RE92's which i had to actually drop all 4 tires dowm to 25psi to hook up.

Damn, those are equivalent times that stage 2 STi's are running. That must be one hell of a tune and some damn good as driving. Who would of known that a bigger tmic improves it that much more?

Congrats man.

rollin on 17's now and they're dirty

Yeah, I actually got tuned before I put the bigger top mount on my car. So when i put the larger tmic I actually lost some boost pressure(but i know prob increased cfm to the engine). So, i need to go back and get retuned actually, just havn't got a chance to really do it yet.

And thanks guys, yeah I have seen stage2 STI's running my times and traps... with some actually a little slower but i guess it depends on conditions, altitude and of course driver...Lol. Looking to get 12.5's at maybe 108mph out of stock turbo before i go bigger turbo.

The STi turbo ain't that big and the EJ255 and EJ257 are fairly similar. It's not surprising that both run similar times. The STi's 6-speed is also geared very poorly for drag where the WRX 5-speed is much more drag friendly (strength aside). There are lots of EJ205 stage 2 type cars that dip into the 12s as well.

No, I didn't, I got a boost leak and it was crazy humid and my launch was sucking. i was only getting 1.9 60s. My fastest was a 13.7 which was slower than my stock time. 13.3. I just need to go the local 1/8th mile track and practice on my launches again. It's been forever since Ive even tried a launch.

I was launching at about 5000-5500 rpms. No I don't have launch control. It's just been so long that Ive even tried a launch. I need to get back into the rhythm of things. Good luck with it boost.

^^ idk if he was talking to you or me... so i'll comment too. LOL. I don't use launch control, pretty much just keep revving fast at about 4500 rpm's and dump it. From what i have seen online... it usually takes a wrx(non sti) at least a turbo upgrade(at least to VF39) to trap what i did. 106mph. I'm a little puzzled, and it wasn't like it was freezing cold out, about 75 degrees.

Well I'm glad you didn't break your tranny, I would probably refrain from dumping the clutch.

Well... Shouldn't really say "dump" it. I slip it a little. But now after the tune and tmic if i slip it too much i smell clutch.... Mmmm yummy lol. ###### my next mod
