i got so sick of explaining mbc problems that i stopped trying. infact my buddy running a 20g at 350 whp on his built STI swap 03 wrx track car runs a hallman mbc. :/ i guess if you do it right theres nothing wrong but most dont do it right.
From my experience, i would assume that the JDM gearbox can handle the redline launch, bare in mind when i launch i get tire spin which takes the strain from the gearbox. I have a turbonetics mbc & no problems. when i installed the mbc, i was getting fuel cut at around 19psi i backed it off to about 17-18.5 psi and had no problems. But I would not suggest this to guys with us wrx's as my motor is the ej2o7 which comes from japan with 280 hp.
Heres my times from last weekend at our 1/8 th mile track this was my best run, against an evo 3 (i won):
60ft: .469(obviously a glitch)
trap mph: 82.7
