launching at redline

I use to slip the clutch when launching but it fried my clutch to much, now i launch at redline dumping the clutch, all 4 tires spin and i'm of the line like a rocket sometimes the car fishtails- which feels sweet. My 0-60's are 1.70-180. anyone else experiencing this. I know that once my wheels are spinning i'm not damaging the gearbox.

Mods so far: tbe, intake slincer removal, mbc- set at 17-18 psi

bogus thread???

baller_v24 05-23-2007 10:17 PM

nice 60 fts time but have u been saving up some money ### i think ## just a couple more hard launches from a new tranny. i would rather replace a clutch than a tranny that's why i slip the clutch when i launch. tire spin does take some of the load of the tranny but i would refrain from dumping the clutch.

redline dumping.... maybe once or twice n ## lucky do it again n ## an idiot...straight up
its betta to ease off the clutch smoothly n slowly but not to slow this isnt good for the car but hell, its way betta than what your doing now...

ArmyWRX 05-24-2007 08:11 AM

wow guy i slip the clutch at 4000.... to spin all four tires it take a huge amount of shook.... ## not preloading the tranny or nothing.... i hear a load BOOOM clonk clank vary soon

Geez, maybe the US wrx's have softer gearboxes than the JDM's, and obviously by your comments they do. a couple guys here with jdm wrx's like mine do the same thing week after week with no problem. I was the only one frying my clutch at the line. Anyway, thanks to the guys who replied respectfully. And i am saving up for dog gears for 1st,2nd and 3rd. Then I should be bulletproof, somewhat

Go big or go home right?

WRXKidid775 05-30-2007 10:47 PM

jdm yo!

what is the final decision on that i have heard speculation that the jdm box is better but never seen any facts.

i got so sick of explaining mbc problems that i stopped trying. infact my buddy running a 20g at 350 whp on his built STI swap 03 wrx track car runs a hallman mbc. :/ i guess if you do it right theres nothing wrong but most dont do it right.
