First Drag Race Tonight at the Track

Well, I finally took the WRX to the track, and it was so much fun. I haven't scanned in my timeslip, but I probably will tomorrow.

My best run was 14.042 @ 98.23 mph. I was a little disapointed in the time because I thought I would get into the 13's. However, since this was my first time ever at the track, I was happy.

The problem that I was having was the 60' time. (The best I got was 2.0 something.) I have read in this forum were I should expect <1.9 with Cobb Stage 2. Can anyone give me some advice on how to get my 60' time down?

As a side note. There was a 80's something Civic out a the track, with a turbo that was running 12.4. (Most motorcycles ran between 11-12 seconds.) I thought the car was 'Rice' until I saw him moving. I also found out that most Mustangs are about the same or slower than my car. I really think it bugs them when little 4 cylinders can take them and still get 25 miles per gallon. Damn I love this car.)

Thanks. I am already trying to figure out how to go faster, and find the next scheduled street car races at the same track.

Before I can go there, I may need to add some suspension mods. Do you know if there are any autox races held in North Texas?

here's how to get that 60' down. when your on the line. have your rev's ready between 4 and 5. and have clutch right at fricton point. the tree drops, let go of the clutch. but be prepaired to shift quick.

Dude, I checked out some of those sites, and that makes me want to buy a real race car. I will have to see what else is going on.

I imagine that I would have a blast at them. Here recently, I am been considering buying a dirt track race car, but I told my self that I would wait until March of next year (when the new season starts; it ends in September).

I personally think that autox racing would be much more fun and exciting. And, the money that I had saved for a dirt car can now go into the WRX. It looks like I might be getting a IHIH VF34 and STi Fuel Injectors.

They don't allow turbos or AWD. I think that they do this to control cost and speed.

Your 60' time was 2.05. If you get your 60' to around 1.8 or 1.9 and you keep going 98 mph you will def. hit a 13 something. And Pop it at 5500rpms you will get a better 60'. Feather it out a bit. For every 1/10 of your 60' is about 2/10 of at the end of your run

I am a little scared to dump at 5500 because I don't want to buy a new clutch.
