Man, I'll tell you right now. It's going to be on. They're pretty quick. Just try for a good launch and don't miss any shifts. I don't see him totally smoking you though. Just get the launch down and give her hell.

Good luck with the M3.

I've put a few k miles on a 99' M3 convertable so I think I'm a pretty good judge on this one. The WRX is slightly faster 0-60 if you get a good launch but high end the wrx can't keep up with the 3.2L If you don't get a good launch though, you might look pretty bad. The M3 is not slow. I think the quarter mile favors the M3 slightly but it's a drivers race.

Then again if he's automatic and you're stick, that would be enough to give you the advantage.

Want to kick his ass? Make him drive a small road course in the snow. RWD suckage!

Beat them pretty soundly on the 1/8 here. Go stage 2 and they will never catch up. Old factor plus they are not really that huge on hp or torque.

an STi is a whole different ballgame. You could give the M3 80+hp more and it'd still not keep up with an STi from a decent start. Why? The m3 is 20+% heavier.

You give that M3 80HPmore and your in trouble. Like i said, it was lucky to be only about a car lenght behind the STI. as I see these cars are no joke. My buddies looking at a 2000-2003 cant remember exact year, but hes looking to run me. Now will that year M3 run me....Im not sure but could be interesting.

99 m3 = 240hp
2001 m3 = 320hp

there's a big difference (IE 80hp)

14.2 in a stock 02... you should be THRILLED
14.0 in a 97 m3 is not bad at all either. I commend you both on excellent driving

love em both

I love m3s. IN fact I have always wanted one but can't afford one! I think wrxs are the best bang for your buck around in terms of performance. M3s always seem to be seting the standard for performance sedan/coupe type cars, so if you are keeping up or beating one in your wrx, great job!! esp ### you probably paid half!! STis are simply amazing...they are almost as fast as the 2005 m3s. I must say though, something I like about the m3s is that there is no turbo lag...
