08 WRX at the track

Went to my local drag strip today to run the car to see what kind of difference i got from my cat back and intake. Bone stock i ran a 14.3 at 93 mph, and with the couple mods i have i was able to get a best of 14.0 at 98.89 mph. I'm fairly impressed to how the car runs, but would like some input on your thoughts if this is a good time or not.

Your launch time needs to improve a little. The 60 foot and reaction time. Decent times though.

ya, get the 60ft times down to 1.7 - 1.8, good times though. I was running 14.2's with my 06 wrx cat back and spt intake. get a DP and a tune and u should be in the 13's easy.

Not too shabby. My best 1/4 mile time is 15.02, don't know why I can't seem to break 15. Still working on my launch though, it's getting better. How do you feel about your launch? Any special technique that you're using? There's a good thread here somewhere about how to launch your WRX and it helped me a lot.

1st time at the track, SUCKED!!! ....OK I don't know why when I cut and paste this it didn't show up as a link....I'm technology impaired. This is the title to the thread with the instructions on how to launch.

All I do to launch is hold it at 3k then release the clutch to the point where it starts to grab, get on the gas and then release the clutch the rest of the way just fast enough as to not burn the clutch.

That sounds a lot like what the post was saying to do. It said to stage @ around 3k then as the tree drops take it to 5k and ride the clutch just a bit as you launch, once your moving let it out the rest of the way. What's your RT time?

I ran my 08 wrx at Toronto Motorsports Park last weekend. The car has a K&N drop in air filter and XPT Stage 1 tune. I ran 13.9 @ 95 mph pretty consistently.
The best run was:
R/T ... .498
60' ... 1.836
330 ... .000 (for some reason it didn't record on the slip)
1/8 ... 8.872
MPH ... 76.82
1000 ... 11.613
1/4 ... 13.936
MPH ... 94.95

There is a video of this run I posted on youtube I also posted another 2. The ones you see against the Acura TSX and Pontiac Grand Prix are both 13.9 @ 95 runs and the one against the red Honda civic was a 14.1 @ 95, all on the same day.
All launches were at about 4500 rpm.
I am wanting to go back in a month with a downpipe and XPT stage 2 added. Hopefully I can run a similar time to a stock 09 with the next mods.
Crossing my fingers the tranny holds up.
