I thought going to a FMIC without a turbo upgrade was a no-no?

nope as long as u have turbo back exhaust and an cold air intake ## good with the access port...it runs great and strong...ive beat sti's on the highway and from a roll so i hoping for low 13's...the fmic does mess with the access port a little so im going to a near by dyno by the first week of april to tweak a few things but it still runs good

Cobb specifically says NOT to use a CAI with it's maps. This post is bad information.

Quoted from cobb's map notes for the 93 octane '07 WRX stage 2 map:

you need a special tune to get anything out of a CAI, this is true even with a short ram IMO. A CAI or short ram is just one of those things that, for some reason, everyone does for a first mod who doesn't know any better. Same with a BOV. Tons of posts on here will tell you the same thing. Many, including myself, have made this mistake without reading up on it. I put the SPT short ram on my car with Cobb stage 1 and I FELT a power loss. Anything you can actually notice is a big deal IMO. I put the stock system back on and the difference was night and day. Our stock intakes are actually pretty good. Let us know your #s though. In modern cars, cleaner/cooler air doesn't mean much without tuning the computer for it.
