WRX vs Integra

Alright so im very confused me and my friend who have been very good friends for the past 10 years, so we know each others mods to the T, took our cars up to the local track and had a friendly race I have a automatic 03 wrx cobb stage 1...stage 2 as of this upcoming tuesday...He has a 1998 Automatic Integra GS...My car is stock other then the cobb stage 1 he has a cat back exhaust and other minor mods like spark plugs and high flow filter...So any how a few months ago we raced with him having those mods and my car being 100% stock he beat me off the line by about a half car length then I just ripped him from there on by alotta car lengths now we recently had a little rematch with me having stage 1 and he only beat me by a hair off the line and then once I guess I hit like 35 or 40 mph I guess my turbo kicked in or something and I just blew him away. Now what is drawing the conclusion is that My other friend has a 07 bmw 328xi which is bone stock and he raced the integra and beat him off the line and just continued to destroy him then I raced him and also beat him off the line and destroyed him my theory is maybe my car wasn't spooled up and like warmed up completly when racing my friend with the integra or I guess just simply turrbo lag.

I was just wondering like if this was unusual ### I mentioned the fact that I lost off the line against a integra to some people and they looked at me like I had two heads as if this was not supposed to be happening so I mean I was just wondering if theres some sort of issue here if this shouldn't be happening and I need to get something fixed or something or like if this is like not to far fetched/unusual.

if you had manual i would tell you that you should never lose to your friend off the line and that you just needed to learn to launch your car but you have an automatic So i am not sure what to tell you.
