Just wondering....

Hey all. I just got my new (to me) 2002 WRX Sport Wagon (PSM) and was wondering some performance mods I should do to it. Things I plan on doing are a bigger turbo, sway bars, bov, exhaust, and whatever else you think. Also i would like to know things i should look out for with this particular model.

Things I have already done are Silver BBS wheels, Megan Racing Coilovers, and an 02/03 STI Hood Scoop.

It's not letting me insert a pic of my ride. i'll have to do that later...

how big do you plan on going, its best to set a goal (hp wise) and then we can point you in the right direction. what are you looking for 250-275 to the wheels?

The picture might be too big, it needs to be smaller the 800 pixels wide

+1 to what Nagy said. Best things to start with are EM (engine management) and downpipe. Tires are also a good start if you still have the stock rubber on. After that, you need to have a goal to work towards. Congrats on the pruchase also.

I clicked on the mountain icon and it wouldn't let me browse my computer.

But my long term goal is probably running stock sti hp.

My buddy dropped a lot of hp into his 5sp forester xt and i know his car doesn't work as well as it should. So thats why i was asking about what you all have done and what i should look out for. I found a faq on here about steps you could take before dropping in the upgraded turbo. So i'm reffering to that a lot.

Right now I'm looking for an exhaust and then after that will probably engine management.

Honestly since your doing a good job and researching. Try and reserearch the EM first. There can be gains made with just Em on a stock car. Then once you make additional mods to the car you can get more power then just by bolting it on. If funds are tight and you are looking into exhaust you just need the DP (downpipe) and that will free up ad give you good HP gains. A CBE (cat back exhaust) is more sound and looks than HP. Best of luck with everything.

ya. i got a buddy looking for a full exhaust set. he can get stuff at rallitek (dunno if you know of it, it's only in portland) for pretty cheap. so i'm kinda waiting on that. depending on how things go i will put the engine management in before or after the exhaust. and i know i wanna install a turbo timer. whether that be before or after the other two.

Sounds good man. Nice to have a hook up like that. Some people will say you dont need the turbo timer. But I have one and I like it. Just something different. Good luck with everything.

they are great! i love them. they don't add to much extra bumpiness to your drive. and (i dunno what others are like) they have 32 settings for the dampering.
