Lightbulb a helping hand

hey guys, i had a quick idea
ive been laid off for a few months this year and had to rely on my local food bank for some grub. Now that im back working and on my feet i had an idea, most of the food banks in our area are running low on supplys and donations are getting low so i thought about getting in touch with some local subaru dealerships and stating a canfood "drive."
here is my plan
once or twice a month we could go to the dealerships that we have established a can food drop off box and collect, then our convoy of subies would all go together to some local foodbanks and drop off all the stuff. i figure that we as subaru owners make a good living. the organizations that are out there and help families in need are in need of help themselves, i dont know how many of you have ever been in a situation where you need to ask for help, but its very humbling, and puts alot in perspective, just think,we could cruise and help all at the same time. If anybody is interested let me know if this souonds like something youd want to get involved in

literaly with in 10 min of posting on nasioc i found another thread posted 5 min after mine just like it, but promising a discount at a shop. thats funny cause to me it sounds like that guy or gal is trying to make some bucks for their buissness. that just goes to show what they are all about over there. with that said i stand to gain nothing except the satisfaction of helping

Just replied in the other one. But yeah I just like the satisfaction of knowing I helped someone that needed it. I dont want or need anything else from this. GREAT IDEA.

Im in. After growing up poor, I have seen how much help some of these places could use.

I just got my first WRX ('09 Dark Gray Premium Sedan) earlier this week, so I could use some cruising and a chance to meet the community anyways.
