What's the Difference in STi engines?

I'm trying to swap the engine w/ Sti engines.
I have 07 wrx but recently piston rings has been damaged now i need set of forged pistons or sti engine...
but i see that there are some different engines like... V5, V6, V7 sti engines
what's the difference and what are they?

Turbos,ECU functions,intercoolers,cams,heads..... A Google search will bring up the technical specs.

this happened right after i got my car tuned with Enginuity.
local tuner did the tuning...
right after the tuning my car was smoking already...
and then couple of days later... boom!
The car was smoking so much i couldn't see what's coming behind me...
then the tuner said i need to replace the pistons because 07 models has problems
with piston rings and it just failed working now...
i was like what da heck....it was just working fine and right after the tuning...this happens...
but what can i say... how do i check if the piston rings damaged?
because i know my car was not running rich. previously Andy from verocious moto tuning did the tune and it was running perfect.
my car has VF39 with stock injectors..

put it back to stock and take it to subaru. If you put it all back the way it was they might not notice it was modded if they do at least you tried.

nope rings. Lose of power and smoking very badly. I thought it was my turbo at first but pulled it and it was fine. Even sold it on Ebay.

a compression test will tell you exactly what it is. mine was the rings cause I held compression during a wet test.
