Swap or scrap?

So I thought my subie just needed head gaskets, turns out my engine is worn and after 25k with the head gasket replaced ill have major problems again. I was already looking at $3400 for head gaskets, water pump, timing belt, plugs, and some other stuff that needed to be replaced.

Im just wondering would it be worth it to drop a lower milage motor in or should i just scrap the car and move on? Im not trying to send more then $4000 and Im not trying to build my car to an insane amount of power as this is my daily driver with very mild mods. Just looking for a stock low milage engine, how much would that run me to do a engine swap?

Any feed back helps.

what is actually wrong? 25k is a while to predict a failure of a part.

If you are mechanically inclined you can pick up a stock shortblock brand new
and install yourself
