Really need help
Need help. I bought an 02 wrx but it has a totally different engine. I'm really trying to learn more about my car. I know it has a ej25 block ( which I have no idea what that is out of). And I have no idea what head is on there, and I have no idea were to look and find it. Really need to find it cause I'm having camshaft position sensor problems! Any help would be appreciated.

you have a vin off the block? Some of the 04-05 blocks are frankenstein shtuff....

Keith will chime in soon.... Maybe Justin

I don't even know where to fine the vin. New to subies. Mostly worried about the head so can replace my sensors!

The casting info is on the top of the heads:

This one is B25.

This one is LHS20.

Guess I missed the boat on this one....

I would say that it's important to know which motor you have, and if those heads are stock with that motor or from a different motor type(i.e. 2.0L heads on a 2.5L block, etc, etc) If you bought this car this way you can never know, unless the owner told you the truth, what engine might be in the car.

I know the block is an ej25, I saw it stamped on the block. But i don't know what that is out of.

Post a pic

Doesn't mean it's stock internals.....

What car is the block out of?

psinuse 06-18-2013 05:14 AM

An ej25 could be out of any number of cars. There were several ej25 motor types. ej251, ej255, ej257 just to name a few.

Caddy_22 06-18-2013 12:20 PM

All that is on the block is stamped ej25.

Try and find the numbers on the front of the block...should look like this;
700(this number will be either 700,701,702,703)

They might be hard to see because they are behind the timing cover, but you might be able to see them. The engine code is for an STi motor
