HELP: EJ22T Install Questions

Hi all,

wondering if anyone can help me at all... I recently blew the big end in my MY05 WRX EJ205

I have recently purchased a EJ22T, long block it has been bored .5mm over with Wiseco forged pistons, rods, cosworth 272 cams, ej205 heads from an MY99 tgv deletes side feed injectors, JUN Adjustable cam gears etc etc...

I was looking to install this setup straight into my MY05, but have been informed that it will not work as the MY05 has AVCS and the wiring harness/looms will not suit?

Can anyone confirm that this will not be able to be installed?

If yes sweet :)

If no could I utilise my stock heads from the MY05, install the cams and run this setup?

Would the non avcs cams work?

Any help, info woudl be greatly appreciated

Kind Regards

Steve

Forgot to mention im running an aftermarket ECU (VIPEC plug n play)

Happy to disconnect AVCS if that is an option?

Did the EJ205 come with AVCS, I thought only the EJ207s did? I'd run the 205 heads, they have better ports and will flow better with that motor.

I didnt beleive they were avcs either... I heard only STi

apprently its single avcs?

MY05 2004 wrx aussie spec

Can these heads still be used with the non avcs cosworth cams?

Using the Non AVCS cams in a AVCS head can be done, but you have to replace a few things, cam pulleys, cam seals and you'll have to relocate the cams sensor to the passenger side(I believe cosworth sells the re-locator kit for this. If I can remember anything else I will update, but it's late here and I need some sleep...
Aren't you guys in Australia born with this stuff in your blood?...lol

Thanks so much for the info...

I think most aussies are building their V8 holdens/fords etc etc haha also what I used to dabble in, but much prefer the boxer... def a new learning curve though

I too might get some sleep tonight, after the 48 hours of research my brain has had enough
