iluvmysti is an unknown
head removal

Had an exhaust cam gear retaining allen bolt shear wreaking un-known havoc on the passenger side valve train. Happened at low rpm and I heard the valves rat-a-tat-tat before lock-up. Want to know if I can remove the passenger side head to assess the damage while engine is still in the car.

Pull the engine, it's much easier that way. Besides once you asses the damage and realize you need to replace a piston or complete motor, it's already out of the car.
