from the machine shop. Originally had a stripped head bolt hole. According to the machinist the one hole had a bad set of threads and actually said there were no threads to begin with...? They tapped it and put in the new ARP stud...curious..WTF WTF By the way this was a brand new 2.5 short block from FRED BEANS SUBARU in PA.
wait Dani, is it a 2.5 block meant to be turbo'd? or is it like a 2.5rs style block? cause my friend did a 2.5rs block in his legacy, turbo'd it (he owns licmotorsports.com subaru specialist) and he has problem after problem because of the turbo.. which is probably why people don't turbo 2.5rs's and do a motorswap instead..
This is a stock STI block and I don't know why it was moved-I thought I put it in the'block' forum to begin with. Whatever who knows when this thing will run-still gotta' put on all the mods and take it to the tuners.
Hardly...just a 2.5 w/vf 39, panks, STI IC, cat free 3", header, inlet, Cobb 3, that's it-just enough to keep me happy 'till my Cobb 3 heads are ready and then who knows...

maybe a baby monster...one thing it has have enuogh 'go' to get by my cocky romanian freind Dan and his '03 EVO (stock). He says that his evo has 300 whp stock...hmmm. This is not true? your right 'masta not a lot of tech in this except the part about the miising thread s in the stud hole. Lucky it did not need a helicoil, d'!Thumbs Up
they have about 240 or so to the wheels. and 300 crank which are two totally different numbers... Dani with those mods, your car will whoop the crap out of him. (assuming he is truly stock)
That's what I thought-I did'nt say anything like 'no way' or challenge his #s...I know better than to 'bench race' this person as according to him he is the fastest and best driver around(has a rallye card from europe so he says). I'm not telling him anything about my car just that it is a stock 'x that had a bad piston that's getting repaired. That way when we go to the track maybe I can put some egg on his face... NEW QUESTION: there is an extra breather hole on the STI block...comes up from the center of the case. There is one on the wrx block and two on the STI...should I plug this?
Damn, I've never moved a thread just to have to move it back. Nice job Dani...
Just kidding. I'll put this back where it belongs. !Thumbs Up
