Engine rebuild

Hello to all,
my WRX 2002 engine have problems then it's was thinking it's time for a rebuild.
I d'nt' want an EJ25, would like to rebuild mine.
With a budget of 2000-3000$ what can i do and where can i buy the pieces?
I was thinking:
pistons wiseco/cosworth (will my open deck support 92.5mm? )
rods cosworth/carillo
hp oil pump
for head gasket i don't know 0.78 or 1.1 or 1.5 mm?????
ARp or cosworth head studs

Really confused about it

thank to all for help

G

Just like Tom did, search around, the 2.0 has been built up, rebuilt, made into a hybrid, all with great results when done right. Good luck with your build/rebuild.

I've search around, and i'v found that the most have done a 2.5 l, the one i don't want.
Because i live in Switzerland and i can have problems if they see EJ25 and not a EJ20.
Gruppe-s have only 2.5 l shortblock.
I was asking myself what i need for a good rebuild, what pieces...

Thanks

I was thinking the same, put inside a stroker kit 2.2l Cosworth, but somebody told me that if i bore for that, the walls of the cylinders of my open deck will be thinner and it's dangerous if i go up with the pressure or at high temp.

92mm and 92.5mm what is the diffrence in power and torque?if there is....
What kind of headgasket i need? 0.78, 1.1, 1.3 or..?

thanks again
