i already have the motor out, forgot to mention that.... but is it just unbolt the intake manifold and fuel rails, unbolt header, then unbol tthe heads? can the heads slide out after that or is there something else you have to do???

Do you have the FSM? I can make you a copy of it and mail it to you if you want. PM me.

FSM??? i got some manual cd that i bought of ebay that has covered everything i had questions about i just cant find anything about taking the heads off.... i guess ill just try my way and see what happens.....unless there is an easier way??? (assuming my way will actually work)

FSM = Factory Service Manuals.

Since you have the same thing that I've got, I guess you're straight. !Laugh!

straight as a circle as far as having the information...... i still cant find it.... do i just unbolt the intake manifold, fuel rails, exhaust manifold, then unbolt the head from the block.... can the heads slide out then or no????

or do i actually have to take the entire intake manifold off the car???---i hope not

any thing thats bolted to the head needs to come off. and make sure u time it. it makes it easyier reinstalling it.

remove in this order and you should get it...
headers,intake as a whole unit, crossover water pipe, plastic cam covers, cam sprockets, rest of plastic cam covers, valve covers, cams and remember to mark the buckets with their positions as they are clearanced for that specific position, head bolts, heads will come off now with a soft hammer and some light force.
hope this helps

cool see that is what ive been looking for... i pretty much figured it out by now... but thanks! i do have one more question... my brother managed to strip a head bolt when i was working on the other side... is there any way to get it out???

stileguy 07-14-2006 11:30 AM

in short you're f@#ked, will need major surgery, go to tool shop and get a stud remover tool, like a small plumbers wrench, hate to be you!!

skate enjoi 07-15-2006 11:38 PM

dont worry... i got it out after pounding a smaller size socket onto it... no major surgery at all... came right off after that stud was removed....
