Cam gear allen bolts

Hey there guys...just rebuilding my 2002 bug eye to a hybrid...just wondering are the cam gear bolts torqued to yeild just like the head bolts? Should a guy be getting new bolts for the cam gears right from subaru? oh ya and does anyone know the torque specs to tighten them too? thanks alot!

Those cam gear bolts for me were so hard to get off!! I have built 3 engines for my WRX and every time those were the hardest bolts to get off, Here is a website that is VERY VERY helpful and it's what I used for a reference guide.

I suggest saving them to your computer. That way they will open quicker for you as you reference them going forward.

These manuals are lifesavers, especially since subie manuals seem to be classified info to the general public.
