I wonder if the 6 Cylinder Boxer engine would fit and impreza? The legacy has both the 2.5L 4 Cylinder and the 3.0L 6 Cylinder on the Limited. And it's also in the Tribeca.
I believe this has been talked about before, and maybe even done at least once. Not worth it though from what I remember. The 6cyl isnt built for turbo charging. So right off you would have to build the engine up.Im not sre about fitment and mounting either.

it fit OK. It's not much bigger than the EJ series. Turboing it decently requires a lot of internal work and you end up with a rather expensive motor that's a lot more hassle than, say, a stroker on a 2.5L or even a fully build EJ race motor in the 2.6-2.8L neighborhood.
thats cool, i didn't even know there was a 6cyl boxer...... should be a monster torque engine!!!
No, it's not. It does not have an advantage over many larger EJ variants. It is not any more a "monster torque engine" than many of the other built up EJ motors out there.
It's not designed for boost so re-building the thing for substantial boost changes things around a bit. Also, at that high a cost, it's direct competition would be very upgraded versions of the 2.5L block which can be higher in displacement, supply the same or more torque, and have more top end potential.
Was that twin turbo? That would be sweet. I couldn't find the specs. Definitely novelty and not practical. I love to see the innovation though and mad scientist implant procedures.
SuBEast, you crack me up kid!
