2004 STi internals
I am looking into forging the internals on my 04 STi and I cant decide what all i want to do. I am looking to be in the 550-650 HP range and I want the car to be dependable (daily drivin). Obviously my first thought was to take care of the weak point, the pistons, I was thinking about CP or JE, but as far as the rest of the block i am not sure what needs to be changed to keep the car safe. Can my crank and camshaft support this much horsepower? Since i am changing out the pistons should I get better rods as well? Basically any advice or help you could give me would be great.

At 550 and 650hp "dependable daily driver" is all about how you plan on using the car.....

to answer your question you will need to do rods and studs for the engine. and the stock cam shafts might be able to hold im not sure.. i have no reached that just yet

The Pistons are a must and the rods are not a bad idea since your in there. I would also have the crank worked for better oiling.. I'm doing this route this time around.. It's easy, call Ron at Axis.. As for the cams, if you want that much power your going to want to work over your heads and entire valve train.. The STi setup is ok, but could be better..

Definatly not stock camshafts.
new valvesprings/retainers/valves maybe 1 mm over.
Head work
crank work OR billet crank but im not sure if they make one for the sti
